    Octane Creates Advisory Roles for Ophthalmology and Aesthetics

    Two New Advisories to Convene Physicians to Discuss Groundbreaking Medical Technologies

    Aliso Viejo, Calif., April 22, 2020.  Octane, Southern California’s leading accelerator, announced the creation of two new advisory opportunities:  Octane Medical Advisor, Ophthalmology and Octane Medical Advisor, Aesthetics to convene physicians that are a part of the Octane ecosystem and to engage more KOL/Physicians in future Octane conferences and innovation events.

    Each role is co-chaired by leading physicians in their respective industry. The Octane Medical Advisor, Ophthalmology is led by Dr. John Hovanesian, MD, FACS, Harvard Eye Associates, Ehsan Sadri, MD, FACS, Visionary Eye Institute, and Elizabeth Yeu, MD, Virginia Eye Consultants. Each of these co-chairs also have a leading role in Octane’s Ophthalmology Technology Summit, which is now scheduled for July 31st, 2020 at the Fashion Island Hotel in Newport Beach, CA.

    “OTS will introduce a virtual option to compliment the in-person format attendees have come to enjoy," said Cara Parchment, Signature Event Manager, OTS & ATS.  “We’re planning for some unique safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of participants to adhere with CDC and local health guidelines, including testing and other support from our Platinum partners.”

    The Octane Medical Advisor, Aesthetics role is co-chaired by Greg Buford, MD, FACS, BEAUTY by Buford, Ava Shamban, MD, AVA MD, and Steve Yoelin, MD. These co-chairs will be instrumental in helping bring together leading physicians, industry and entrepreneurs to discuss groundbreaking medical aesthetic technologies as well as unmet clinical needs and new business opportunities. Octane’s second annual Aesthetics Technology Summit is set to be held on January 8th, 2021, at the Fashion Island Hotel in Newport Beach, CA. Additionally, Kamakashi Zeidler will lead next year’s summit and has become a senior advisor to Octane’s LaunchPad for early stage company evaluation.

    To become an advisor, a physician is nominated by an existing Medical Advisor and approved by the chairs of the committee. Additional benefits include being recognized on the Octane website as an Octane Medical Advisor as well as podium opportunities at Octane conferences and events.
