City of Hope is proud to be an Octane partner because we both believe in Orange County. We believe in the talent and drive that thrives here. And we believe that by supporting and bringing this talent together, we can fulfill big dreams and visions.
We came to Orange County with a vision and a promise to change the way advanced cancer care is delivered. Traditionally, patients have had to leave the area for advanced cancer care. In Orange County, that meant 20 percent of people diagnosed with cancer left the area for highly specialized care. City of Hope didn’t like those numbers. Nor did we like the fact that cancer incidence is increasing in OC.
In 2018, our leaders in Duarte, Calif., made a bold move to launch a $1 B investment to fund a world-class cancer center, cancer research unit and network of care in Orange County. It will be home to the latest in discoveries and treatments that speed cancer breakthroughs directly to where people live and work. In the process, we’re establishing a national best practice for changing the way lifesaving cancer care is delivered.
Our big vision is being realized. The Irvine center will open in 2022, and our network of care is expanding throughout the OC region. We are well on our way to changing the health care landscape and becoming a hub for the nation’s top experts who are treating and will one day cure cancer.
But transforming health care doesn’t happen without the right partners. Octane had proven a dynamic and like-minded collaborator with City of Hope. Here is where Octane helps fuel our vision:
