April 21, 2021. Octane, Southern California’s leading tech and medtech accelerator announced its eight LaunchPad SBDC Tech Innovation Forum presenters. Over 150 tech companies applied and these startups represent the best of the best innovative tech companies in Southern California that have been through our rigorous LaunchPad SBDC Accelerator.
Companies will each have 10 minutes to pitch their company, followed by Q&A from our panel of investor judges. In today's supercharged digital world, companies have only two seconds to capture consumer attention. New formats like Immersive Media (360°, 3D, VR, & AR) help marketers better harness attention but creating this content isn’t easy, until now. Advrtas is launching an Immersive Media Content Creation Platform allowing most any marketer to create, publish, and measure immersive content using a desktop computer. There's no coding, special skills, or production needed. ADVRTAS is globally tested and currently raising funds for our enterprise SaaS platform due to launch in Summer 2021.
Azark- The 12 trillion-dollar logistics industry faces a significant high-value problem as the need to move goods around the globe is exploding. Logistics remains largely analog, built on disparate legacy systems and infrastructure, creating billions of dollars in wastage in an environment urgently needing a digital transformation.
Azarc digitally threads the logistics industry, end-to-end. With news consumers around the world experiencing record levels of distrust in online news, Credder’s credibility scores help readers avoid time-wasting clickbait and quickly find the most trusted news and sources on any subject. Credder’s ratings can be licensed by social media, search engines, web browsers, and news aggregators who are under increasing pressure from users, the media, and regulators to address content credibility issues on their own platforms.
Grounded Foods- According to USDA data, over half of U.S. dairy farms have closed down since 2003. Yet demand for their products remains. So in order to satisfy the population’s cravings for dairy, we need to develop sustainable alternatives that address climate change, global food insecurity and economic viability.
At Grounded Foods Co, we recreate the sensory experience of eating dairy - starting with cheese - using cauliflower, hemp and fermentation. This world-first process allows us to make low-cost plant based dairy analogues that are more sustainable, more nutritious and more scalable than existing alternatives, and reduce our reliance on dairy production.
Hedgehog- Hedgehog is a cryptocurrency aggregator and portfolio manager that helps clients trade on 130+ exchanges and track their transactions and balances all in one place. With a discrete launch at the end of January this year, over $16 million in assets are already being managed on the platform and trading volume is growing month over month at a substantial rate. Hedgehog is building critical infrastructure to help main street investors find the best price anywhere, on any trading pair they can imagine.
Nufabrx- Nufabrx is an innovative technology company focused on controlled delivery of active ingredients (vitamin, supplement, medication) through clothing; effective delivery lasts through 25+ wash cycles. Health and wellness reimagined simply by getting dressed in the morning.
One Team 360- One Team 360 provides a SaaS solution that “gamifies” employment to improve employee engagement, management, training, and reporting, specifically for the part time hourly workforce, and helps build a totally engaged team. Through the app we track employees job training, performance, and overall engagement, which is measured and tracked in real-time and translated into points that determine an employee’s advancement. Companies leverage that performance data to effectively manage employees, monitor progress, and track compliance, which results in less turnover, better customer service, and significantly lower turnover costs. The long-term opportunity includes all service businesses including restaurants, retail, and manufacturing, representing a $3B market opportunity.
Vocalytics- Vocalytics is an audio-based (Techstars-backed), AI software that listens to ambient noise, analyzes sound events & trends, and sends real-time alerts. Enterprise facilities suffer an economic impact of $1T annually due to the inability to respond effectively to critical health, safety, and security events in real-time, resulting in high business liability & massive revenue loss.
