Octane and Small Cap Nation Partner to Sustain Innovation Ecosystem

Aliso Viejo, Calif., April 11, 2018 -- OCTANe, Orange County’s technology and life sciences accelerator organization, today announced a strategic partnership with Small Cap Nation (SCN), a financial media content distribution platform that specializes in developing and delivering breaking, on-demand news and information focusing specifically on the domestic and international small cap sector.

"We are very excited to announce our strategic partnership with Small Cap Nation,” said Bill Carpou, CEO of OCTANe, “This partnership will open an important source of capital for our LaunchPad companies and those associated with OCTANe’s Growth Services platform that are raising capital. It also further adds to our coalition of organizations collaborating to achieve innovation and growth to the entire Southern California region”

This strategic partnership is built for sustainability and ongoing deal flow into SCN’s Family Office Networks, which aim to bring the financial industry and its expert professionals to single family and multi-family offices, allowing access to the most current family office news and updates. Access to the Family Office Networks would also extend to OCTANe’s LaunchPad network of recent alumni and current participants raising capital that are on the Growth Services platform.

“Family offices are increasingly looking for mature companies to work with and LaunchPad will provide high quality deal flow in a later investment stage than what most family offices see,” said Hugh Austin, CEO of Small Cap Nation, “We believe that this partnership will be mutually beneficial to both of our organizations and help create a bi-coastal innovation network.”

OCTANe and SCN will share information regarding companies seeking capital that are presenting at OCTANe’s signature Technology Innovation Forum (TIF), which will take place May 31 to June 1 in Newport Beach, California as well as the Medical Technology Innovation Forum (MTIF) later this year. SCN will also bring investors to the conferences to review OCTANE’s LaunchPad participating companies. Additionally, OCTANe and SCN plan to develop an investment conference together in the future.

SCN is based in New York City and have recently opened an office in Silicon Valley.  With a trend in capital coming into the Southern California ecosystem from New York City, OCTANE and SCN hope this partnership will continue to grow East Coast capital connections and will cultivate LaunchPad companies as well as capital resources in the Silicon Valley.
