Aliso Viejo, CA, September 15, 2020. Octane, Southern California’s leading accelerator, announced their 3rd Cohort for Octane’s Non-Profit Accelerator. The program leverages its award-winning LaunchPad, tailoring the process to support the specific needs of non-profits. The 16-week program, designed to help a non-profit increase awareness and enhance their ability to build capacity and sustain the positive impact they have in the community, is supported by Edwards Lifesciences Foundation, providing a pro bono service for the process.
The criteria for the selection process include that Non-Profits are focused on STEM initiatives and are based in Orange County.
Congratulations to our 3rd Cohort of Octane’s Non-Profit Accelerator:
BRDG- BRDG focus is on first generation college students majoring in STEM. BRDG’s one-on-one mentoring (not tutoring) and coaching program shepherds students through the transition phase from being a good student to a desirable employee and eventually a leader. A wide range of coaching topics designed to broaden students’ perspectives includes (among others): Financial Literacy, Leadership, and Networking.
Dreams for Schools- Dreams for Schools is an EdTech organization that was established to inspire, create and educate students to be STEM literate with hard and soft skills needed to become the critical thinkers, creative leaders, and technologists of tomorrow
SciPrism- SciPrism is building an open platform for scientists and researchers across academia and industry. The platform aims to connect disparate scientific assets such as publications, grants, technologies and patents. Particularly, SciPrism’s mission is to tackle the current bottleneck in scientific communication and scientific career development.
STEM Advantage- STEM Advantage is advancing equity through education for low income, first generation college students attending the California State University (CSU). STEM Advantage mentors, prepares and inspires young women and underserved communities to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through a 360-degree program that includes paid internships, mentorships, scholarships, professional development, and community.
